Grilled Steak and Ranch Salad
Ingredients
- 1½ lb top sirloin steak
- 2 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
- 1 (12-oz) pkg uncured bacon
- 2 heads green leaf lettuce, chopped
- 1 pint grape tomatoes
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 English cucumber
- 1 large pasteurized egg (see Note)
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice, divided
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ cups avocado oil
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or use 1 tsp dried)
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh dill (or use 1 tsp dried)
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Sprinkle steak on both sides with steak seasoning. Grill, covered, 5 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 10 minutes; slice steak, and cut into 1-inch pieces.
- Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp; drain. Crumble bacon.
- Toss together lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, and onion in a large bowl. Shave cucumber into ribbons using a vegetable peeler; add to salad, and toss.
- Process egg, 2 Tbsp lemon juice, and salt in a blender until smooth. With blender running, gradually pour oil through food chute, processing until smooth.
- Pour dressing into a bowl, and whisk in 2 Tbsp lemon juice, parsley, and dill. Drizzle desired amount of dressing over salad; toss. Divide salad among plates; top with steak.
