Smoky Mexican Sausage Patties

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp ancho chile powder
  • 1 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients, except oil and lime juice, in a large bowl. Shape beef mixture into 12 patties.
  2. Heat 2 tsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 4 patties; cook 8 minutes or until centers are no longer pink, turning after 4 minutes. Repeat twice with remaining oil and patties. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Drizzle patties with lime juice. Serve 8 patties. Reserve 4 patties for Mexican Sausage and Eggs recipe.

  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced or cut in wedges

  1. Whisk together cilantro, lime juice, and oil in a bowl. Add tomatoes; toss.
