Fresh Lime Margaritas

Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1½ cups silver tequila
- ¾ cup triple sec
- ¾ cup lime juice (about 8 limes; or see Note)
- 1 lime, cut into 6 wedges
- 4 Tbsp kosher salt
- Cubed ice
- 1 liter club soda, chilled
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and let cool 15 minutes. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled.
- Stir together sugar syrup, tequila, triple sec and lime juice in a pitcher.
- Moisten rim of each glass with a lime wedge.
- Place salt on a small plate. Holding each glass upside down, dip rim into salt mixture. Add desired amount of cubed ice.
- Pour margarita mixture into each glass, filling three-fourths full. Top off each glass with club soda.
