Ingredients

  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • ½ Tbsp coarse-ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp whole-grain mustard
  •  2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • 2 leaves green leaf lettuce
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Shape beef into 2 patties. Sprinkle patties on all sides with pepper and salt. Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink in centers. Top each patty with 1 slice cheese; let stand 1 minute or until melted.
  2. Meanwhile, stir together mayonnaise, mustard, basil, and lemon zest; spread one-third of mixture on buns. Serve burgers on buns with lettuce and tomato. Serve remaining mayonnaise mixture with fries for dipping.
