Espresso-Chili Breakfast Steak
Balsamic Tomato Wedges
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp finely ground espresso powder (or other finely ground coffee)
- ½ Tbsp chili powder
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 lb flank steak
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Combine espresso powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper; rub all over steak.
- Cook steak in hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 4 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 5 minutes before thinly slicing across the grain.

- 4 heirloom tomatoes, cut into wedges (or use Roma tomatoes)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
