Cheesy Sausage Calzones

Ingredients
- 1 (16-oz) pkg ground mild Italian sausage
- 1 (14-oz) jar pizza sauce, divided
- 2 (13.8-oz) cans refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly; drain and return to skillet.
- Unroll dough, and divide each into 2 portions. Spoon about 3 Tbsp sauce over 1 side of each portion. Top with sausage, and sprinkle each with cheese. Fold dough over filling, pressing edges to seal. Place on greased baking sheets.
- Brush calzones with beaten egg. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Slice, and serve with remaining pizza sauce, for dipping.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 2 (10-oz) pkg chopped romaine lettuce
- ¾ cup creamy Italian dressing
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 (5-oz) pkg garlic-butter croutons
Side Dish Instructions
- Toss together all ingredients just before serving.
