Smothered Patties

Ranch Mashed Potatoes and Carrots

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 6 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook onion in 2 Tbsp hot oil in a large skillet over medium heat 20 minutes or until tender and golden.
  2. Meanwhile, combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl; shape into 6 patties. Cook patties in 1 Tbsp hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink in centers. Drain and return patties to skillet.
  3. Top patties with onions and cheese slices. Cover and cook 2 minutes or until cheese melts.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (24-oz) pkg refrigerated mashed potatoes
  • 1 (1-oz) envelope Ranch dressing mix, divided
  • 2 (12-oz) pkg frozen crinkle-cut carrots

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Heat potatoes according to package directions. Stir in half of Ranch dressing mix.
  2. Cook carrots according to package directions. Toss with half of Ranch dressing mix.
