Smothered Turkey Burgers
Crispy Oven Steak FriesIngredients
- ¾ lb ground turkey
- ¼ cup almond flour
- ½ Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp avocado oil, divided
- 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
- ½ red onion, sliced
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 1 apple, chopped (such as Granny Smith)
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Combine turkey, flour, seasoning, egg, and salt in a large bowl. Shape into 2 patties.
- Cook patties in 1 Tbsp hot oil per batch in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink in centers. Remove from skillet, and keep warm.
- Cook mushrooms, onion, and thyme in 1 Tbsp hot oil in skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until just tender.
- Add apples; cook, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes. Stir in vinegar. Serve mushroom mixture over burgers.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1 large organic russet potato, cut into wedges
- 1 Tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss together all ingredients; place on a greased rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes, turning occasionally, or until potatoes are browned and tender.
