Cheeseburger Pasta Toss

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • 1½ cups chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 (14.5-oz) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped fresh basil
  • ½ cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz shell pasta

Instructions

  1. Cook beef, onion, and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain and transfer to a 5- to 7-quart slow cooker.
  2. Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients except cheese and pasta.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW 8 hours.
  4. Cook pasta according to package directions; stir pasta and cheese into beef mixture.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 5 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1½ Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss together all ingredients in a large bowl.
