Apple-Pecan Dressing

Ingredients
- 1 (16-oz) loaf sourdough bread, cubed
- 6 Tbsp butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups sliced celery
- 2 Granny Smith apples, chopped
- 1½ cups chopped pecans
- 2 tsp minced fresh thyme
- 2 tsp minced fresh sage
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 3 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Place bread cubes on a rimmed baking sheet; bake 10 to 15 minutes or until crisp.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add onion and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender. Spoon into a large bowl.
- Add apples, nuts, thyme, sage, salt, pepper, and toasted bread cubes; toss.
- Whisk together eggs and broth in a bowl; add to bread mixture, stirring until blended.
- Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until center is set and top is golden brown.
