Classic Red Beans and Rice
Steamed RiceIngredients
- 1 (16-oz) pkg dried red kidney beans
- 1 (14-oz) pkg smoked andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 2 cups water
- 2 Tbsp Creole seasoning
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (32-oz) carton gluten-free chicken broth
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Soak, sort, and rinse beans according to package directions (see Note). Drain the beans. Add beans and water to cover to a large saucepan; bring to a boil, and cook at least 10 minutes.
- Place beans in a 5- to 7-quart slow cooker. Add sausage and next 7 ingredients.
- Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or until beans are tender. Serve beans over Steamed Rice recipe. Sprinkle with green onions.

- 1½ cups long-grain white rice
