Creamy Chicken and Ham Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • ¾ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg cubed ham
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat; add chicken and ham. Cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is done. Add flour; cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually stir in broth and milk; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until slightly thickened. Stir in mustard (if using), and garlic salt.
  3. Gradually add cheese, stirring until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • ½ (6-count) pkg frozen garlic breadsticks

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Bake desired amount of breadsticks according to package directions.
