Honey-Soy Seared Steak

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1½ tsp cornstarch
  • 1½ tsp honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lb flank steak, trimmed
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1½ tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Bring water, soy sauce, cornstarch, honey, and garlic to a boil in a small saucepan; cook 1 minute or until sauce is thickened. Remove from heat.
  2. Season beef with pepper; drizzle with half of soy sauce mixture. Cook beef in hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 3 to 4 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 10 minutes before thinly slicing across the grain.
  3. Drizzle with remaining soy sauce mixture. Serve with Roasted Cashew Vegetables recipe.

  2. Spread broccoli, peppers, and nuts in a single layer on a large foil-lined baking sheet. Pour sauce over vegetables; toss.
  3. Bake 8 to 12 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
