Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground turkey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 5 Tbsp olive oil, divided
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • ¾ tsp minced garlic
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (or use flat-leaf parsley)
  • 2 organic romaine lettuce hearts, shredded
  • 2 avocados, sliced or chopped
  • 4 organic Roma tomatoes, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook turkey, 3 cloves minced garlic, chili powder, salt, and pepper in 1 Tbsp hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 8 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink, stirring occasionally.
  2. Whisk together lime juice and ¾ tsp garlic in a small bowl until blended. Gradually whisk in ¼ cup oil, blending well; stir in cilantro.
  3. Divide turkey, lettuce, avocado, and tomato among 6 plates; drizzle with dressing.

  • 4 pita bread rounds (preferably whole wheat)
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut pitas into wedges; split each wedge in half on a baking sheet. Brush rough sides with oil.
  2. Combine chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper in a small bowl; sprinkle over pita wedges.
  3. Bake 10 minutes until crisp.
