Rumba

Ingredients
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 tsp lime zest
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice
- ¼ cup water
- 2 Tbsp gin
- 1 Tbsp white rum
- 1½ tsp real grenadine (or use pomegranate syrup)
- Garnish: lime wheel
Instructions
- Combine sugar, zest, juice, and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Strain mixture, discarding solids (syrup makes ⅔ cup). Chill 30 minutes or until ready to use.
- Combine 2 Tbsp lime simple syrup, gin, rum, and grenadine in a cocktail shaker half filled with ice. Cover and shake 30 seconds until well chilled.
- Strain into an Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish, if desired.
