Ingredients

  • 1 (14-oz) pkg Chinese style lo mein noodles
  • 1½ (12-oz) pkg broccoli florets
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp minced garlic
  • ½ (10-oz) pkg shredded carrots
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dark sesame oil
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions, adding broccoli the last 4 minutes of cooking. Drain.
  2. Thinly slice steak across the grain. Cook in hot oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper to taste, if desired. Add garlic and carrots; cook 1 minute.
  3. Combine brown sugar and remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Add noodles and broccoli and soy sauce mixture to steak; gently toss. Cook 1 to 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Season again to taste, if desired.
