Mac and Cheese Tomato Soup
Quick and Easy Grilled CheeseIngredients
- 2 (7.25-oz) boxes macaroni and cheese dinner
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 (28-oz) can crushed tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
Instructions
- Prepare macaroni and cheese in a large saucepan according to package directions using ¼ cup butter and 1 cup milk. Add tomatoes and broth; cook 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 6 Tbsp butter, softened
- 12 slices whole-grain bread
- 6 slices Cheddar cheese
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F. Spread butter on 1 side of each bread slice. Place 6 slices of bread, buttered side down, on a baking sheet.
- Top each with 1 slice cheese and remaining bread slices, buttered side up, to make sandwiches.
- Bake 6 to 8 minutes per side or until bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
