Chicken and Waffles Casserole

Ingredients

  • 16 frozen waffles
  • 1 (32-oz) pkg frozen breaded chicken nuggets, partially thawed
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1½ cups milk
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.  Toast waffles according to package directions. Cut nuggets into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Meanwhile, whisk together eggs, milk, syrup, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Tear waffles into bite-sized pieces, and add to egg mixture along with chicken; stir.
  3. Cover and chill 8 hours; stir again. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes.
  4. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 13 -x 9-inch baking dish. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer or until center is set.
