Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup honey
- ⅓ cup yellow mustard
- 3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 (8- to 10-lb) bone-in, fully cooked smoked ham
- 2 cups water
- Garnishes: fresh herbs, lemon halves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine first 8 ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Set aside.
- Place ham, flat side down, on a large piece of foil. Brush ham all over with glaze, and wrap tightly in foil. Place foil-wrapped ham, flat side down, on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour water in pan. Bake 1½ hours.
- Unwrap ham, and place directly on rack. Increase oven temperature to 400°F. Brush ham all over with glaze.
- Bake 45 minutes longer or until a meat thermometer inserted reads 140°F, spooning pan juices and remaining glaze over ham every 10 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Garnish platter, if desired.
