Texas Barbecue-Bacon Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) pkg bacon
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp barbecue seasoning
  • 12 slices Texas toast
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce, divided
  • 12 slices Cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy; drain on paper towels.
  2. Meanwhile, stir together beef and barbecue seasoning; shape into 12 thin patties. Grill patties, covered, 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink. Grill toast 1 minute per side or until toasted.
  3. Spread 1 Tbsp barbecue sauce on each patty; top with cheese. Let stand until melted.
  4. Stir together mayonnaise and ¼ cup barbecue sauce in a small bowl. Spread mayonnaise mixture over 1 side of toast slices. Serve 2 cheese-topped burgers and bacon on toast.

  • 2 (16-oz) pkg frozen onion rings
  • ½ (24-oz) jar dill pickle spears

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Bake onion rings according to package directions. Serve pickle spears on each plate.
