Grilled Cheese Hot Dogs

Ingredients

  • 4 slices low-sodium bacon
  • 2 uncured beef hot dogs
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese, cut in half
  • 2 hot dog buns, split
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp; drain on paper towels.
  2. Meanwhile, cut a lengthwise slit in each hot dog, cutting to but not through the other side. Place on a rimmed baking sheet; bake 10 minutes.
  3. Layer cheese slices, bacon, and hot dogs in hot dog buns. Brush both sides with oil and return to baking sheet. Place a second baking sheet over hot dogs to press top bun flat while baking.
  4. Return to oven, and bake 10 to 15 minutes or until buns are crisp and cheese is melted.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • ½ lb seedless red grapes

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss fruit together in a bowl; chill until ready to serve.
