Brown Sugar Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp grated nutmeg
  • 6 Fuji apples, cored (or use any baking apples)
  • 6 Tbsp butter, cut into 6 pieces
  • 1 cup apple cider

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Stir together sugar, nuts, oats, raisins, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Place apples, upright, in a baking dish. Spoon sugar mixture in center of each apple, pressing down firmly. Top with butter. Pour cider into dish; cover with foil.
  3. Bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer or until apples are tender and topping is browned. Cut apples in half, and serve warm.
