Sticky Maple-Pepper Wings

Ingredients
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1½ tsp garlic salt
- 1 Tbsp plus 1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper, divided
- 2 lb chicken drummettes
- 2 lb chicken wing flats
- 1 cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Garnish: sliced green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Stir together flour, baking powder, garlic salt, and 1 tsp pepper in a large bowl. Add wing pieces; toss.
- Arrange coated wings on a lightly greased rack set on a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until wings are crisp and done.
- Meanwhile, bring maple syrup, soy sauce, minced garlic, and 1 Tbsp pepper to a boil in a small saucepan. Reduce heat, and simmer until sauce is thickened; pour into a large bowl.
- Add baked wings to sauce; toss. Garnish, if desired.
