Cheesy Burger and Fries Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (24-oz) pkg frozen waffle-cut French fries
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Cook beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly; drain and return to skillet. Stir in seasoning. Spoon into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add flour; cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Gradually add milk; cook, stirring until mixture is slightly thickened. Gradually add cheese, stirring until blended.
  3. Pour cheese sauce over meat mixture; top with fries. Bake 35 minutes or until fries are browned and crisp.
  4. Meanwhile, stir together ketchup, mayonnaise, and paprika; drizzle over casserole.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 2 (12-oz) pkg broccoli florets, coarsely chopped
  • 4 Tbsp olive oil 
  • 2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Toss together broccoli, oil, and soy sauce on a lightly greased rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Bake 25 minutes or until edges of broccoli are browned and crisp.
