Cheeseburger-Stuffed Shells
Hamburger Bun Toast
Ingredients
- 4 oz jumbo shells
- ½ lb ground beef
- ⅓ cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ⅓ cup canned tomato sauce
- 3 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ⅔ cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- ⅓ cup dill pickle chips
- 1 small Roma tomato, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook pasta shells according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, cook beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain and return to skillet. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and ⅓ cup cheese.
- Spoon mixture into pasta shells, and place, meaty side up, in a lightly greased small baking dish. Sprinkle with ⅓ cup cheese. Pour broth around pasta shells in dish.
- Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Top with lettuce, dill pickles, and tomato.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 2 hamburger buns, split
- 1½ Tbsp butter, softened
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat broiler. Place buns, cut sides up, on a small baking sheet. Spread butter on buns; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Broil until toasted.
