Caramelized Honey-Sesame Drumsticks

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp Creole seasoning
  • 3 lb chicken drumsticks
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine flour and Creole seasoning in a zip-top plastic bag. Add chicken; seal bag, and shake to coat.
  2. Place coated chicken on a lightly greased wire rack over a rimmed baking sheet; brush chicken with melted butter. Bake 25 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, stir together honey, brown sugar, lemon juice, and soy sauce in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Brush honey mixture over chicken.
  4. Return chicken to oven, and bake 20 minutes longer or until chicken is done.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 2 (3-oz) pkg ramen noodles (any flavor)
  • 1 (16-oz) pkg tricolor coleslaw
  • ½ (10-oz) pkg shredded carrots
  • 1 (15-oz) can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 3 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • ¼ cup Asian toasted sesame dressing
  • 2 (8-oz) pkg snow peas

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Discard seasoning packets from ramen noodles. Break noodles into small pieces, and spread onto a baking sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until toasted.
  2. Combine coleslaw, carrots, oranges, cilantro, and ramen noodles in a large bowl. Add dressing; toss.
  3. Cook snow peas according to package directions.
