Wine Recommendation

Alamos Malbec

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (1-oz) envelope less sodium taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (4.5-oz) can chopped green chiles
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded Mexican-blend cheese
  • 2 (16.3-oz) cans refrigerated flaky-layers biscuits
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 (16-oz) container refrigerated salsa

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Cook beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until beef is browned and crumbly. Drain, and return to skillet.
  2. Add seasoning mix, chiles, and water; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until mixture is very thick. Stir in cheese until blended. Remove from heat, and let cool 10 minutes.
  3. Separate each biscuit into two halves; flatten each half into a 4-inch circle.
  4. Spoon about 2 Tbsp beef mixture in center of each biscuit circle; fold dough around mixture, pinching seams to seal. Place filled biscuits, seam sides down, in a greased cast-iron skillet. Brush with melted butter.
  5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until biscuits are deep golden brown. Serve with salsa.
