Warm Spiced Chai

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 1 Tbsp agave nectar
  • ¾ cup sweetened almond milk, heated
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan; add tea bag. Remove from heat; cover and steep 5 minutes. Remove and discard tea bag.
  2. Whisk in agave, stirring until it dissolves. Cool completely.
  3. Divide tea between 2 mugs.
  4. Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat just until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat; transfer to a large bowl.
  5. Beat milk with a hand mixer until frothy.
  6. Use a spoon to hold back foam while dividing milk between mugs; stir to combine. Spoon thick foam onto each mug. Top each with a cinnamon stick and star anise. Makes 2 servings.
