Meatball and Sweet Pepper Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 (13.8-oz) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 (8-oz) block mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 (12-oz) pkg fully cooked Italian-style meatballs, halved
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg sweet pepper rings
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper
  • 3 Tbsp small fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Unroll pizza dough on a lightly greased pizza pan; spread sauce on dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle with cheese.
  2. Arrange meatballs, cut sides down, over cheese. Top with pepper rings, and sprinkle with red pepper.
  3. Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until edges are golden brown and cheese is melted. Sprinkle with basil. Serve 2 portions, and reserve remaining pizza for another meal.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 Roma tomato, chopped
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • ½ cup chopped cucumber
  • 3 Tbsp balsamic vinaigrette

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss together all ingredients just before serving.
