Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) pkg bow-tie pasta
  • 1 lb ground Italian pork sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 (24-oz) jars spicy arrabbiata pasta sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 (15-oz) carton whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
  2. Meanwhile, cook sausage, beef, and onion in a large Dutch oven over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain and return to pot.
  3. Stir in pasta sauce and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in pasta.
  4. Spoon half of mixture into a lightly greased 3-quart baking dish.
  5. Stir together ricotta, egg, and 2 cups mozzarella. Spread over mixture in baking dish. Top with remaining meat mixture and 1 cup mozzarella.
  6. Bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • ½ cup Italian dressing
  • 1 (5-oz) pkg garlic croutons

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss together lettuce and dressing; sprinkle with croutons.
