Salisbury Steak Burgers
Steamed Carrots and Rice
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
- 1½ lb ground beef
- ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 cup less sodium chicken broth
- 1 (0.87-oz) pkg brown gravy mix
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 6 hamburger buns, split
- 6 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms; cook 8 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet; keep warm.
- Combine beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and pepper; shape mixture into 6 patties. Cook patties in skillet 3 minutes per side or until browned.
- Stir together broth, gravy mix, and ketchup. Add to skillet with onion mixture. Cook until gravy is thickened and patties are done.
- Top patties with cheese slices, and place on bun bottoms. Spoon gravy mixture over patties; cover with bun tops.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1½ cups long grain white rice
- 2 (12-oz) pkg frozen crinkle cut carrots
- 1½ tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Side Dish Instructions
- Cook rice and carrots separately according to package directions. Toss carrots with seasoning, salt, and pepper.
