Salisbury Steak Burgers

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 cup less sodium chicken broth
  • 1 (0.87-oz) pkg brown gravy mix
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 6 hamburger buns, split
  • 6 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms; cook 8 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet; keep warm.
  2. Combine beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and pepper; shape mixture into 6 patties. Cook patties in skillet 3 minutes per side or until browned.
  3. Stir together broth, gravy mix, and ketchup. Add to skillet with onion mixture. Cook until gravy is thickened and patties are done.
  4. Top patties with cheese slices, and place on bun bottoms. Spoon gravy mixture over patties; cover with bun tops.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1½ cups long grain white rice
  • 2 (12-oz) pkg frozen crinkle cut carrots
  • 1½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Cook rice and carrots separately according to package directions. Toss carrots with seasoning, salt, and pepper.
