Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup less sodium beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 (8-oz) block Cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • ½ cup sliced dill pickles

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes or until done. Remove from skillet; wipe skillet clean. Cut bacon in half.
  2. Cook beef and onion over medium-high heat 8 minutes or until browned crumbly. Drain, and return to skillet. Add garlic; cook 1 minute or until fragrant.
  3. Combine broth and cornstarch in a bowl. Add broth mixture, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and pepper. Reduce heat to medium, and cook 5 to 6 minutes or until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in 1 cup cheese until melted. Divide beef mixture among buns. Top with 1 cup cheese, bacon halves, and pickles.
