Salted Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, cut into ½ inch thick pieces, chilled
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1½ tsp salt
Instructions
- Heat sugar and water in a high-walled, light-colored skillet over medium heat.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture is a deep golden amber color, about 7 to 8 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter.
- Stir in heavy cream and salt until smooth. Pour caramel into a separate bowl and cool completely.
