Beef and Bean Chili
Hot Cornbread
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (15-oz) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- ½ (15-oz) can Ranch style beans
- 1 (14.5-oz) can petite diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce
- ½ onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1½ tsp chili powder
- 1½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Cook beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly; drain well, and transfer to a 3- to 4-quart slow cooker.
- Stir in beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, pepper, salt, and water.
- Cover and cook on LOW 8 hours, stirring occasionally; stir in cilantro.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1 (11.5-oz) pkg cornbread mix
Side Dish Instructions
- Prepare cornbread according to package directions. Serve half, and reserve remaining half for another meal.
