Ingredients
- 1 (16-oz) box elbow macaroni
- 5 Tbsp butter
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1½ cups shredded sharp white Cheddar cheese
- 4 cups shredded cooked chicken
- 1½ cups frozen peas and carrots
- 1 (8-oz) pkg American cheese slices
- 1 cup crushed buttery round crackers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain well.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add flour; cook, whisking constantly, 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk and broth; cook, stirring, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Gradually add shredded cheese, stirring until blended. Stir in chicken, vegetables, and pasta. Spoon into a lightly greased 13 -x 9-inch baking dish. Top with cheese slices and crushed crackers.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

- 1 (10-oz) pkg spinach
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 (16-oz) container strawberries, sliced
- 1 (15-oz) can mandarin oranges in juice, drained
- ½ cup balsamic vinaigrette
Side Dish Instructions
- Toss together all ingredients in a bowl just before serving.
