Strawberry-Serrano Margaritas

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 serrano pepper, halved and seeded
  • 1 (16-oz) pkg frozen whole strawberries
  • ¾ cup gold tequila
  • ¼ cup triple sec
  • 3 Tbsp lime juice
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • Garnish: 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, and serrano pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Strain mixture, discarding pepper. Cover and chill syrup up to 2 weeks.
  3. Process strawberries, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, lemon juice, and serrano simple syrup in a blender until smooth. Pour into margarita glasses to serve. Garnish, if desired.
