Crunchy Sloppy Joe Subs

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) pkg frozen onion rings
  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp mustard
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 12 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6 sub rolls, split and toasted

Instructions

  1. Bake onion rings according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, cook beef in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain, and return to skillet. Add ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder; cook, stirring until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  3. Layer cheese slices over bottom halves of toasted rolls. Top with beef mixture and desired amount of onion rings. Cover with roll tops.
