Ingredients

  • 1½ lb 90% lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ (16-oz) pkg whole grain elbow macaroni
  • 1½ cups fire roasted marinara sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown beef, garlic, and onion in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat; drain.
  2. Add macaroni, marinara sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper, and water to skillet; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 25 minutes or until macaroni is tender; sprinkle with cheese.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1½ lb broccoli, cut into spears
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss together broccoli, 2 Tbsp oil, crushed red pepper, and salt on a greased rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Bake 20 minutes or until broccoli is beginning to brown and is almost crisp-tender.
  3. Meanwhile, stir together breadcrumbs, cheese, and 1 Tbsp oil; sprinkle mixture over broccoli, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Bake 5 minutes longer or until topping is browned.
